Keeping your ABiCUS device's firmware up to date is crucial for ensuring optimal performance and security. The process is user-friendly and can be done directly from the Home Screen, following a series of straightforward steps. Before initiating a firmware update, it's essential to export and save your current configuration to prevent any loss of data. Here's a brief guide on how to efficiently update your ABiCUS device firmware.
Step 1: Export and Save Your Configuration
- Navigate to the DMX tab from the Home Screen and select the option to export. This action saves your current device configuration. Refer to FIG.6 (b) for guidance.
- It's a good practice to always export and save the latest configuration to a safe location before any updates. This ensures that you can restore your settings if needed.
Step 2: Prepare for Firmware Update
- Go to the ABiCUS TAB and locate FIG.6 (a). Ensure the FIRMWARE setting is adjusted to “USER”. This is a necessary step to proceed with the update.
Step 3: Initiate the Firmware Update
- Click on the UP arrow next to the VERSION_FW to check for the latest firmware version.
- Select “Check Web” followed by “Web Update”. If a newer version is available, it will automatically download and update your device. The process concludes with a “write to flash”, and the device will reboot to the Home Screen.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If the update process exceeds two minutes, it might indicate a problem with your Internet connection. Check your connectivity and attempt the update again.
Factory Reset Option
- In some cases, you might need to revert your ABiCUS device to its factory settings. This can be done by clicking the “Factory” button. Be aware that performing a factory reset erases all configured data on your device, returning it to default settings.
