How do I add a fixture to the ABiCUS DMX Gateway?

Creating a dynamic and precisely controlled lighting environment requires careful configuration, and the WAC DMX fixtures offer a comprehensive solution for achieving just that. Follow these step-by-step instructions to seamlessly integrate and customize your fixtures through the intuitive ABiCUS Integration Platform.

Adding Fixtures

1. Navigate to the DMX Tab: Begin by selecting the DMX Tab in the ABiCUS Integration Platform.
   

2. Add Fixtures in the DMX Directory: Within the DMX directory, click on the "+" symbol to initiate the process of adding fixtures.
   

3. Assign Meaningful Location Names: Enhance clarity by creating location names using the "ALIAS" description. For instance, labeling a fixture as "Master Vanity" provides context to its placement.
   

4. Automatic Population of ZONE, GROUP, NODE Address (2.1.1): The ZONE, GROUP, NODE address tags, crucial for fixture identification within the Integration Platform, will be automatically populated as you add fixtures.
   

   Note: The seamless integration of fixtures is facilitated by this tagging system.
   

 Selecting Profiles

1. Unique Profiles for WAC DMX Fixtures: All DMX fixtures come equipped with unique profiles. These profiles define the fixture's characteristics and behavior within the lighting system.
   NOTE: Update to the latest firmware for the latest profile availability. 
   

2. Associating Fixtures with Profiles: Click the down arrow next to PROFILE and select the specific fixture associated with the previously created ALIAS. In this example, we're adding an Aurora 1780 PROFILE.
   

3. Automatic Configuration by ABiCUS: ABiCUS streamlines the configuration process by automatically defining the base DMX channel, footprint, dynamic range, and presets associated with the chosen fixture.

4. Matching Base DMX Addresses: Ensure the configured Base DMX address aligns with the Fixture Base DMX address for seamless communication and control.

   Note: ABiCUS provides Custom and NONE Profile selections for generic DMX fixtures.
