4. Determine Internet Connectivity Type

The Colorscaping Transformer is designed with flexible connectivity options to support a wide range of installation environments.

Connectivity Options

The product supports two methods of communication:

• WiFi Connectivity:
  Compatible with 2.4GHz WiFi networks, allowing for wireless setup and control via the MyWAC app.

  • Note: 5GHz networks are not supported.

• Hardwired Ethernet:
  For locations where WiFi strength is weak or a more stable connection is desired, the product also supports direct Ethernet connections.

  • Note: Min Requirement Cat5e Cable

When to consider Ethernet Connectivity

Use Ethernet connectivity for communication if:

• WiFi signal strength is below recommended levels (weaker than -70 dBm)

• A more secure or reliable connection is required

• The installation site has existing wired network infrastructure

Switching between Wireless and Hardline Connections

After the transformer is connected to the MyWAC App and online, switching between WiFi and hardwired ethernet connections will require a power cycle to allow the hardware to re-establish the new connection.
